With the recent development of COVID-19, the world as we know it has drastically changed. Most schools are shut down for the remainder of the school year, non-essential businesses are temporarily closed, and the economy and families are struggling to stay afloat.
However, as everything comes to a halt, human trafficking will not stop. In times of crisis, the vulnerable are at an even higher risk, and people will seek to take advantage of this situation (like Pornhub) to control and profit from others.
In times of crisis, human trafficking does not stop.
Neither will we.
Although some of our operations will change, we are still committed to fighting human trafficking, especially during this season. Here are a few ways we plan to continue our work:
Online Trainings
Due to school closures, we are switching to online trainings until it is safe to gather in person. If you are a school administrator, church leader, or community leader, consider scheduling us for a free online training session. We will also be accepting requests for in-person trainings for the summer and fall.
Updates on how COVID-19 is impacting human trafficking
Right now, the at risk are most vulnerable, and we want to be vigilant to update followers on how this pandemic is impacting the fight against human trafficking.
Next Steps
There are still a myriad of ways to combat human trafficking. In the next few weeks, we’ll provide resources and tips on how you can take action from home.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. The National Human Trafficking Hotline also remain accessible 24/7 at 1 (888) 373-7888 | SMS: 233733 (Text “HELP” or “INFO”). Together, we can continue our work to spread awareness about human trafficking and fight for freedom.
